Story
Waldemar was built in 1924, when Thielenbruch was still a quiet settlement taking shape on the eastern edge of Cologne. The name of the area goes back to a 15th-century landowner "Thiel von Thurn" and "Bruoch" the old German word for swampy ground, a reminder of the marshy landscape it once was. Today the neighborhood is bordered by protected nature reserves and a peat bog that has been under conservation since 1969. The house has stood through all of it.
